Clare wanted to be an artist and storyteller for as long as she can remember. She was lucky enough to have parents who indulged most of her whims, supplying her with paints and allowing her to draw wherever she wished. (Sort of.) (The walls and doors were supposed to be off limits.) (Also the floor. And the bedding.) (Clare objected to limitations.)

She frequently plunders her background in art history, mythology and folklore for inspiration. Her curiosity has taken her through the Choranches Caverns in Vercours, France, and up to spend the night on Cader Idris in Wales. She hopes to spend as much of her life as possible exploring and drawing what she finds.

Clare studied Art History at Bowdoin College, in Brunswick, Maine. She has not yet decided where she lives.
